I get asked a lot how I keep up with a workout habit as a mom of two, so I figured it was time to actually write out what my mornings look like, start to finish. It’s not fancy, and it’s definitely not Instagram-perfect, but it’s consistent — and consistency is honestly the whole secret.
6-7am: Water first, always Before coffee, before anything, I start with a big glass of water (sometimes with lemon). It’s such a small habit but it genuinely changes how I feel by mid-morning. No product needed here — just discipline. Then Coffee!
Then: 45-60 minutes of home workouts This is the part people ask about most. I don’t go to a gym — I do workouts at home, usually following along with a YouTube video depending on my mood that day. Having two small children means a gym membership just isn’t realistic for me right now, so home workouts are what actually stick. My favorite YouTube channels are: growingannanas, FitbyLarie, and Pilates by Izzie My Favorite at home workout equipment: Workout Bands, BowFlex Adjustable Dumbbells, Yoga Mat, Pilates Set
Post-workout shower and cleanse Once I’m done sweating, I hop in the shower and cleanse right there — one less step to think about afterward. Because I do not have any makeup on, I use a gentle cleanser like this one
Toner flooding This is the step I skipped for years and now wonder how I lived without. I press in several layers of toner on damp skin instead of just one swipe — it makes a noticeable difference in how hydrated my skin looks by midday. My favorite toners are: ACWELL Licorice Balancing Cleansing Toner, Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner, and CeraVe Hydrating Toner.
Vitamin C A few drops after toner, while my skin is still a little damp. This is one of the steps people ask me about most when they say I look younger than 38 — I really do think it’s made a difference over the years. My favorite Vitamin C serum
Moisturizer + SPF Non-negotiable, even on the days I’m not planning to leave the house. SPF is the one product I’d tell anyone in their 20s and 30s to never skip. My go to moisturizer and this No cast SPF have been my favorite this summer!
Makeup, if I’m heading out On days I actually have somewhere to be, this is where a light makeup routine comes in — nothing heavy, just enough to feel put together. (I’ll do a full separate post on my everyday makeup bag soon!)
